It's a Gold Mine of Bobby Pins!

    GOLD Bobby Pins: H&M $2.95 for 30

1930s: bobby pins were originally used with bobbed hair; so hence the name. Unrelated to the name Bobby, which is short for Robert.

More commonly available in black and brown, these gold bobby pins are more accessory than utility.

Expect the Unexpected (Movie)

Cast of Tarantino's Latest Expect the Unexpected: John Travolta (Pulp Fiction), Pam Grier (Jackie Brown) and Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained)

Quentin Tarantino's casting choices seem perfectly obvious...in hindsight. Imagine the initial conversations between QT and his team...Of course John Travolta should be resurrected from his Look Who's Talking roles to play a heroin addict hitman in Pulp Fiction. Yes, the 70's blaxploitation actress Pam Grier should absolutely be cast as the title role in your third feature film, Jackie Brown starring alongside superstar Robert De Niro. Please do cast Christoph Waltz, a complete unknown to most people, to headline not one, but two of your biggest films, Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained.

__

The above three will be starring in Tarantino's Expect the Unexpected.

Not much is known about the story line of this new movie.

Perhaps a remake of Hong Kong hit by the same title??

One thing's for sure; I will be in theaters opening day.

Uberlicious (Business)

                           https://www.uber.com/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uber_(company):

Uber is a ridesharing service based in San Francisco. The company uses a smartphone application to connect passengers with drivers of vehicles for hire. Customers use the app to request rides and track their reserved vehicle's location. As of September 16, 2014, the service was available in 45 countries and more than 100 cities worldwide, and was valued at more than US$15 billion.

Uber has met with protests from taxi drivers and taxi companies who believe that ride-sharing companies are illegal taxicab operations that engage in unfair business practices and compromise passenger safety. As of September 2014, protests had been staged in Germany, France, England, and other nations.

Upon its inception, Uber only offered full-size luxury cars for hire, and the "UberBlack" title was adopted for the company's main service (named after the "black cars" private transportation services in New York City). In 2012 the company launched its "UberX" program, which made available to consumers smaller vehicles such as the Toyota Prius. Due to the lower fees that accompanied the program, the service became extremely competitive with traditional taxi services, expanding Uber's appeal to a broader cross-section of the market.

Uber was founded as "UberCab" by Garrett Camp and Travis Kalanick in 2009. The service was officially launched in San Francisco in June 2010, with Ryan Graves appointed as CEO. Graves later stepped down from his role as CEO to become VP of Operations; he was replaced by Kalanick.[7] Uber's mobile app—for both iPhones and Android phones—was launched in San Francisco in 2010.[8]

The company received venture funding in late 2010 from a group of super angel investors in Silicon Valley that included Chris Sacca. In early 2011, Uber raised more than US$11.5 million in Series A funding led by Benchmark Capital. In late 2011, Uber raised an additional $32 million in funding from several investors, including Goldman Sachs, Menlo Ventures, and Bezos Expeditions, bringing their total funding amount to $49.5 million.

I took my first ride with Uber in September of this year.

I needed to get to the Boston Harbor to take a ferry to Provincetown for the weekend.

I used a promo code allowing me for a complimentary ride up to $30.

Since the distance from my house to the harbor was not far, I went all out and requested an UberLux.

5 minutes later, a tinted black Suburban pulls up to my building.

Woah!

All the rides since then have been amazing.

Seamless.

Just enter destination.

No hailing cabs (when in NYC).

No waiting in line for a cab at the airport.

No exchange of money.

It's Uberlicious!

Sign up today!  Use my promo code heatherk241.  You and I will both receive $30 credit.

My Song (Music)

YOUR SONG - Elton John

It's a little bit funny this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live

If I was a sculptor, but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show
I know it's not much but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song and this one's for you

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world

I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song
It's for people like you that keep it turned on

So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world

I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world

Onyx Black (Beauty)

    Color: OPI | Onyx

    Type: Gel

    Nails by: Hannah | Town Nails | 336 Newbury | (617) 236-8079

Rain came down, without rest, for four consecutive days.

That was my inspiration for choosing this color.

The gloominess of the darkness.

The melancholy of the mood.

Let's just dive right into it with black nails!

Not Your Father's S-Class (Auto)

   Photo: 2014 Mercedes Benz S550

The new S-Class is not the S-Class my father had.

I always equated the S-Class to an older male driver.  But that's all changed with the new S-Class on the road today.  Sportier and more compact, it rivals some of the cooler sedans likes Porsche Panamera.

I would love love to get a white S with dark tinted windows and black rims.  Butta.
(But not before I put my father back in one.)
___

My love for cars developed at an early age.

And what I love most, are the cars made by Mercedes Benz.

   Photo: 1989 Mercedes Benz 560SEL

During my youth, my father had a 1989 Mercedes Ben 560SEL, just like the one in the photo.

He loved this car.  I mean loveddddddd this car.

You wouldn't believe the options the car had.  Options that not even the best cars of today have.

Aside from the smooth ride and comfort of the car- the car had options.

How about reclining rear seats!

Often times, we would take road trips in the car and we were always comfortable in the back.

My sister, brother and I would be able to lean back on the heated reclined seats and just kick back.

As I got older and started driving, I too was able to get behind the wheels.  Now in the front seat, enjoying a different aspect of the car.

The car was heavy, strong and smooth.

My father kept this car until he just couldn't any longer.  And that day was a sad one- for all of us.

And now as an adult, I have enjoyed 3 different Mercedes Benz:

2003 C320 Black
2009 ML350 Black
2011 E320 Black (current)

As my lease on the E320 nears its completion, I often toy with the idea of getting something other than Mercedes Benz.

Porsche came out with a smaller version of their SUV Cayenne, called Macan.

But I'm quite certain, I will end up getting another Mercedes.

Expect the Unexpected (Home Decor)

Photo: a home I showed the other day.

Being a real estate agent allows me to explore many different homes and every once in a while, I will find something noteworthy.

There are two things that stand out: the empty frames- painted mono-chromatically and two tables of different height- stacked to make a media console.

Very clever, not to mention how cool the tables itself are- the industrial-ness of the stainless steel and the elegance of the curved legs.

I get a tingle every time I enter a space that has something unexpected and unique.

All of the senses come alive.
